Abstract:
The article deals with the processes of Siberian cities’ development associated with the ideas of the ‘city-garden’ formation that emerged in the early 20th century. The results of a comprehensive study conducted by professors and students of Siberian Federal University on the renovation of the historical and cultural potential of Nikolaevskaya Sloboda in the city of Krasnoyarsk are presented. The article considers the influence of the principles of the ‘city-garden’ formation on the modern transformation of the current environment of settlements allowing to achieve significant architectural diversity, to preserve the cultural landscape and to obtain a higher quality of the environment as a whole.
