Abstract:
The paper deals with a mathematical model aimed to study electromagnetic and hydrodynamic processes in the inductor-ingot system during continuous DC mold casting. Experimental studies implied measurements of the vertical components of the liquid phase of meridional flows using the ultrasonic Doppler velocity probe. Results of mathematical and physical simulations were compared; dependences were obtained proving the validity of the proposed mathematical model.
