Catalytic reforming is profitable in the sense that it converts low octane linear hydrocarbons, into branched alkanes and cyclic naphthenes of which they are partially dehydrogenated to produce high octane aromatic hydrocarbons, by aromatization due to their uses as petrol fuel for everyday consumption, despite limited supply, reformates are in greater demand. Experiments were successfully performed and results accomplished with several plausible room of improvements, particularly in the crude oil assay under detail evaluations procedures. However, fundamental feedstock analysis of the crude was ticked involving atmospheric distillation to give specific product yield, distillation under vacuum, chemical properties examination was done using gas chromatography, the percent of sulfur, and density testing of each major fractions obtained. From the experiment carried out Diesel is dominating the end-product to be commercialize, followed by gasoline with approximately 16 % more aromatic from reformate. Moreover, from the bottom VR amounted up to 13 %, however, the recuperation of upgraded value material can further press down the coke produced to be lesser, 5 % and even lower from the overall incoming feed of crude. The sensitivity of catalytic reforming to contamination by sulfur and nitrogen requires hydrotreating the naphtha before it enters the reformer, adding to the cost and complexity of the process.
