Abstract | Mathematical modelling of the MHD stirrer has been done considering the periodic electromagnetic force and the free surface of aluminum melt in a mixer furnace. The influence of the electromagnetic force on the flow formation with a free surface has been assessed. Results have been analyzed. The obtained results on the influence ofthe periodic component of the force on the flow pattern at different feeding frequencies of the MHD stirrer and at different melt levels in the melt bath have made it possible to indirectly verify the process for industrial use. © 2019, Latvijas Universitate.
