The conductivity of the skin and muscle tissue has a significant effect on the magnitude and distribution of the current in the electrode - skin structure. Addressing this issue this paper presents an analysis of the process of electric current flow using an analytical model in the electrode-skin structure for the electromyography system and functional electromyostimulation. As a result, an expression was established for the potential distribution at the electrode-skin interface and the total contact resistance of the structure was determined.
