The research relevance stems from a need to improve the efficiency of independent work done by students through implementation of the principles of student-centered learning. The research purpose is to substantiate the method for organizing student-centered independent learning of students with the help of transformable academic course. The core idea is to design an academic course that can be easily transformed into a learning format comfortable for the student due to its modular content having multidimensional structure of educational material representation. The paper describes an example of building the transformable academic course for independent learning of Informatics discipline. Paper materials represent high practical value for teachers delivering student-centered academic course.
